General information

Smoking and vaping

The stadium is a smokefree and vapefree venue. Designated smoking/vaping areas are outside the stadium

  • Along the fences outside the main concourse doors 1 – 36
  • For some events, outside the northern roller door (opposite Aisle 35)

Dress code

Please dress appropriately for your visit

  • Clothing should be decent and non-offensive
  • Bare feet are not permitted
  • No gang patches
  • No clothing that mimics emergency staff uniforms
  • Costumes should fit within your seat and not block views
  • Accessories that could be mistaken for weapons are not allowed

Playing surface

Patrons are not permitted on the field and playing area before, during or after events. A breach of this rule may result in the issue of a trespass notice, eviction and possible arrest.

For certain events, access to the field may be permitted to patrons holding valid accreditation. Patrons must follow the directions of stadium staff at all times.

General guidelines

The following general guide lines apply at all events and are in place for the safety and enjoyment of all patrons:

  • Patrons must not sit or stand in aisles or block entry doors or emergency exits.
  • Some sporting and other events at the stadium can be dangerous. Patrons attending such events do so at their own risk.
  • Some events may use flashing light sequences as part of the match presentation which may affect patrons with photo sensitivities.
  • Pass outs do not apply at all events. At some events, exit turnstiles may operate allowing re-entry with a valid ticket.
  • Audio devices may be used only with earphones.
  • Patrons bring personal items into the stadium at their own risk. The stadium holds no responsibility for any damages to, loss or theft of personal property.
  • Advertising promotions, product giveaways or commercial activities are not permitted on the stadium property (this includes the walkways leading to the stadium), unless expressly authorised by the Stadium Trust in writing. Any unauthorised product giveaways will be confiscated, and personnel evicted.
  • No alcohol is to be removed from the stadium.
  • Children under the age of 14 must be supervised by an accompanying adult.
  • Entry and right to remain in the stadium is at the sole discretion of stadium management.

Permitted & prohibited items

Bag policy

Limit of one bag per person.

Bags can be no larger than 42cm x 30cm x 30cm deep and must fit under your seat.

Soft-sided bags only, no hard shells.

Chilly bins and eskys are not permitted.

Please note there are no bag storage facilities at the stadium.

Food and drink

Patrons can bring the following items to the stadium:

  • Sealed clear plastic water bottles(up to 1 litre) or empty bottles (up to 1 litre). Empty water bottles may be filled in the stadium from water outlets located around  the concourse.
  • Small amounts of non-commercial food for personal consumption, for example sandwiches, fruit, slices etc contained in one bag per ticket holder.
  • Special foods for medical and dietary requirements, and baby food and liquids.

Stainless steel bottles may not be allowed at concerts. For some events, bottle caps may need to be removed and water emptied on entry. Plenty of food and drink outlets are available inside the stadium. Please refer to the specific event page for further details.

* Corporate box holders should refer to their Corporate Box License for the terms covering the supply of catering to the box.

Prohibited items

  • Alcohol.
  • Beverages other than water.
  • Glass bottles, cans, thermos flasks.
  • Hot food and commercially produced takeaway food such as McDonalds, KFC etc.
  • Chilly bins, eskys, picnic baskets or oversized bags.
  • Illicit drugs.
  • Gang patches and gang paraphernalia.
  • Sound amplifiers including loudhailers.
  • Noise making devices including musical instruments (unless under prior agreement with the event owner under agreed conditions).
  • Prams, strollers, pushchairs (there are limited storage facilities for these items at the entrance, however the Stadium takes no responsibility for loss or theft).
  • Dogs or other animals.
  • Flares, fireworks.
  • Laser pointers, whistles, horns, bells, vuvuzelas or similar items.
  • Drones and other flying devices.
  • Knives of any size or other weapons.
  • Skateboards, roller blades, scooters, bicycles or similar items.
  • Chairs, booster seats, stools or other seating devices of any kind.
  • Signs or banners that are obscene, abusive or may cause offence.
  • Flag poles of more than one metre in length.
  • Any other item that stadium management determine may cause injury, public nuisance, inconvenience or offence.

Note: Umbrellas are permitted, however for the comfort and safety of others they may not be raised inside the stadium, including the seating bowl.

Cameras and recording equipment

Photographic devices for any purpose other than private non-commercial purposes are not permitted.

Event management staff will, at their sole discretion, determine whether or not an item is intended for personal or commercial use.

Video and/or audio recorders, camera tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, and commercial digital video equipment are prohibited.

Camera mount lenses above 100mm in size are not permitted.

Security

Patron and bag searches

Patrons and their possessions may be subject to searches before entering the stadium. Searches may also be carried out during an event and when leaving.

Searches may include metal detection wanding and pat downs.

All vehicles entering and leaving the stadium may be searched.

Patrons who refuse to participate in searches may be denied entry or asked to leave the venue.

Prohibited items will be confiscated.

Behaviour and refusal of entry

The following behaviour will prevent access to the stadium, or will result in eviction from the stadium and confiscation of entry ticket:

  • Being observably affected by alcohol or under the influence of drugs.
  • Failing to comply with security or gate staff requests.
  • Attempting to bring in prohibited items.
  • Using obscene language, verbal or physical abuse or behaviour in a disorderly or offensive manner.
  • Engaging in verbal or physical harassment or discrimination of any kind including, but not limited to, discrimination based on age, gender, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability or religion.
  • Carrying out unauthorised activities within the stadium.
  • Throwing items in the air or onto the pitch (including during Mexican waves).
  • Standing on seats and other wilful damage to stadium property.
  • Interfering with the progress of the event.

The following people will be refused entry:

  • People who have been previously issued with a trespass notice that still applies (this is an offence under the Trespass Act 1980).
  • People who are not authorised to be in the stadium, for example people who have no valid entry ticket or accreditation pass.
  • People who are clearly exhibiting symptoms of an infectious disease.
Wellington Regional Stadium Trust (WRST) reserves the right to update, modify or change these Conditions of Entry from time to time. Amendments will be posted and available on the Stadium website. The Event Conditions, Ticket Conditions or any Special Conditions applied by Stadium hirers, the ticketing agent, or sporting code governing bodies, will be made at the discretion of the said party. WRST will endeavor to publicise such changes on its own website.
